Let's start with this news which is sure to give you a lot of feels.
WarnerMedia has placed a series order for an animated Gremlins prequel series for its upcoming streaming service.
Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai will be set in the 1920s in Shanghai. It will focus on Sam Wing (aka the shop owner from the movie series), and how he met Gizmo.
"Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizmo take a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering — and sometimes battling — colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore,” the project’s logline reads.
“On their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.”
Ten half-hour episodes have been ordered.
In other WarnerMedia news, Kaley Cuoco has set her sights on The Flight Attendant.
The series will be based on Chris Bohjalian's novel of the same name. It follows a young flight attendant who wakes up in a Dubai hotel room with a dead body next to her.
With no idea what happened, she desperately joins her crew members on her next scheduled flight.
But she is met by FBI agents who are curious to find out what she got up to while in Dubai.
Cuoco is also attached to lend her voice in the upcoming DC Universe animated comedy series, Harley Quinn.
She recently concluded a 12-season run on The Big Bang Theory, which was also made by Warner Bros.
“I love that Warner Bros. is my home away from home, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue this incredibly collaborative and gratifying relationship,” Cuoco said in a statement. “They’re stuck with me now!”
Over on HBO, it has been announced that Divorce is coming to a close with its third season, which premieres tonight, according to Deadline.
“Between scheduling and complicated lives and actors, it was a confluence of things that came together that helped us decide that [a six-episode final season] was something that we wanted to do, and we felt confidence that [showrunner Liz Tuccillo] could achieve what we were all hoping for for this final look at Frances and Robert,” Parker said in a statement.
“Sarah Jessica Parker has a unique ability to showcase the complexities of personal relationships with such empathy and humor,” added Amy Gravitt, EVP, HBO Programming.
“With Divorce, she took our audiences through the keyhole and into the lives of a modern day couple dealing with the fallout of splitting up."
"As we end with the 3rd and final season of the show, we look forward to our next endeavor with Sarah Jessica and [her production company] Pretty Matches.”
Over on Netflix, it has been announced that The Haunting of Hill House creators, Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy, have another show in the works.
