It's time to leave Litchfield, and start the process of rebuilding.
Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Orange is the New Black Season 7, and we will be traveling to uncharted waters with Piper.
The final 13 episodes will focus on her as she struggles to adjust to life away from the confines of Litchfield.
She's left her lover and her best friends behind.
But that's not to say that things for everyone else will be good.
Things inside the prison are “as corrupt and unjust as ever,” according to the official logline.
“Taystee’s friendship with Cindy still hangs in the balance as her life sentence looms, Gloria and her kitchen staff are confronted by the hard truth of PolyCon’s newest profit stream,” and “others chase drugs or dreams” while they “grapple with the reality of their place in this world.”
It all sounds interesting, right?
It's going to be difficult to say goodbye to these characters, especially when it feels like there is so much story left to tell.
It has been reported that a follow-up series could be ordered, but nothing has been said in months about the potential sequel.
The end of the series was announced last year.
"After seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison,” said series creator Jenji Cohan in a statement last year when the end date was announced.
“I will miss all the badass ladies of Litchfield and the incredible crew we’ve worked with. My heart is orange but fade to black.” Cindy Holland, Vice President, Original Content Netflix, said.
“During production of Season 1, everyone involved with Orange Is The New Black felt like we knew a special secret we couldn’t wait to share with the world."
"Since then, we have laughed, cried, raged, and roared with the women of Litchfield, and every moment spent with them felt like borrowed time — too good to last forever/ We will be sad to say goodbye but we will definitely be going out on a high.”
