The Exorcist Cast & Creator Dish on Family in Crisis & Satisfying Conclusion

Fox is busily promoting their new series The Exorcist.

Stars Geena Davis and Brianne Howey (Kat) were at NY Comic Con this past week, along with the series creator, Jeremy Slater.

They're all very pleased with the general excitement fans of the series have been exhibiting and eager for you to see more.

In the interviews below, Geena and Brianne talk about the sense of family portrayed in the show, and what it means to the sense of story.

If not for the connection the audience feels with the family, it would be more difficult to engage and lure viewers back week by week.

For Geena, she encourages anyone who hasn't been traumatized by the original movie to get right onto viewing it. Their experience with the series will only be enhanced, and both actors agree the nods within the show to the original, ensuring both the series and the movie take place in the same cinematic world are delightful.

If you hadn't noticed that, I'd encourage you to go back and watch The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 1 to see what Father Tomas finds when he does his research. You'll notice a certain iconic staircase, for instance, and references to the frightening story that played out there.

Jeremy Slater goes on to talk reinforce the importance of family to the series, and that it was always his intent to slip that drama into his horror.

And it was also at his urging that the series did not become a direct remake of the movie. It's interesting to hear why.

Slater also has some news about The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 4 (airing tonight, Oct. 14 on Fox) and what medical science has to say about what's going on with Casey, but he delivers a bit of a spoiler during the conversation.

Can you guess what it is?

He has some big news about what's ahead on The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 5 that you can only hear if you watch the interview. It will be their biggest episode to date, and they have no intention of slowing down.

There's information about what's ahead for Casey (and poor Hannah, who plays Casey...she has her work cut out for her!!), why the actors who play Father Marcus and Father Tomas were chosen and so much more!!

And if you are hoping you won't be left hanging at the end of the season but there's still room for a second season? There's news about that, as well.

Enjoy, and be here tonight for a full rundown of the latest episode after it airs!

Tomas. Do you know who writes letters? People who don't want to get caught.

Sometimes God gives you a job to do. And when that happens, you have to drop everything and just start walking.
