Wayward Pines Season 1 Episode 6 Review: Choices

Even though Wayward Pines Season 1 Episode 5 revealed the truth that the story actually takes place 2000 years in the future, we were still left with plenty of questions.

We learn a little more in Wayward Pines Season 1 Episode 6 thanks to the use of flashbacks and plenty of exposition.

It was interesting information, and it was great seeing Sheriff Pope again, but as a whole it felt extremely slow. The flashbacks helped with the presentation of the information, but perhaps they could have mixed in a little more action as well.

Wayward Pines - Choices Season 1 Episode 6

Not to worry, I have a feeling the action is coming. Harold and Kate are plotting an escape, apparently by bringing down the wall, so that has to be building up to something major. I'm guessing that music box houses a bomb of some sort, and I can't help but feel surprised if they're the first ones to try something like that.

Though Ethan does not agree with Pilcher's methods, he's now firmly on the side of protecting this town and its residents. He wants to stop the reckonings, but he's also ready to do whatever it takes to stop the faction from bringing down the wall. What will happen when he finds out it's Kate behind the plan?

One of the questions I was left with after learning the truth was why keep it a secret from everybody? I mentioned that even after hearing Mrs. Fisher tell the story of the boy who told his parents that it still didn't make sense to me. I'm glad that Pilcher explained that he tried that with Group A, and it was a complete disaster.

However, keeping people in the dark doesn't work for me, either. I think his mistake was telling everyone everything at once. That's a lot for our brains to digest, and I can see why people couldn't handle it. However, telling a few at a time, giving them time to accept it all, that seems like it would work better.

Ethan has seen what the world has become, and he's now heard the whole story. I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't bring Theresa into the mix, as well. What if he then told Kate and Harold, and they told a couple more, and it became a gradual thing?

It also has to help that these people have mostly been in Wayward Pines with questions for a long time. They weren't told the truth when they were first woken up, but now hearing it might actually make sense to them.

Kate's a fellow secret service agent, and she trusts Ethan. I think if he told her the truth she'd grow to accept it and stop this plot to blow up the wall. But then we wouldn't have the set up for a conflict to come in future episodes.

So what do you guys think will happen? Will Kate and Harold attempt to go through with their plan, or will Ethan stop her before she has the chance? So far he doesn't know she's even part of it, so simply trying to reason with her isn't an option at this point.

I'm curious how Theresa's storyline falls into all of this. I have no idea about the significance of Plot 33. Does anyone want to venture a guess? Big Bill appears to be the link between the storylines as Kate and Harold are using the delivery guy to spy on him. I also get the impression that Kate is either using Theresa to get information, or she's trying to recruit her into the faction.

If it's the latter, it would be interesting if Ethan and Theresa find themselves on opposite sides, especially if Ethan keeps Theresa in the dark. Theresa's smart though, between her son and husband both knowing the truth, it's only a matter of time before she figures it out.

What are your theories for how this will all end? I'm guessing the whole town will know the truth by the end of it, but other than that I don't really know where this is heading.

Don't forget, if you missed anything you can watch Wayward Pines online and catch up!

You wanna end up dead too, hun? Don't be stupid.
