Major Crimes will be entering the great TV show afterlife sooner rather than later.

According to TV Line, the procedural drama series will conclude after its upcoming sixth season, which is scheduled to debut October 31.

The season finale which will air on January 16, 2018, will now serve as a series finale.

“The whole company of Major Crimes is dedicated to making [this] the best season yet,” says series creator James Duff.

“We will finish our long run on TNT with a finale worthy of our loyal viewers and their years of unstinting support.”

The series launched in August 2012 as a spin-off of the Kyra Sedgwick fronted The Closer, so the series has had a solid run on the back of another hit show.

Unfortunately, the ratings have been sagging for the series of late, and Major Crimes Season 5 slipped over 25 percent to average 3.2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating.

The final season of the series will star Major Crimes stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Graham Patrick Martin, Kearran Giovanni, Jonathan Del Arco, Leonard Roberts, Jessica Meraz and Daniel di Tomasso.

It was previously announced that Billy Burke would be reprising his villainous role as Phillip Stroh on the TNT drama series.

Major Crimes has successfully navigated the many challenges that arise with a spin-off; the primary mission of which is staying true to its core DNA while expanding into unique territory all its own,” said TNT's exec VP of original programming Sarah Aubrey.

“From Brenda Leigh Johnson to Commander Sharon Raydor, the cast and crew have done a phenomenal job of creating enduring characters – many of whom are celebrating 200 episodes together this season.”

The cancellation is hardly surprising when you consider the way TNT has been going over the past few years. The network has changed focus and has turned to edgier scripted fare like Animal Kingdom, Claws, and Good Behavior.

Flynn: You weren't in charge for eight years.
Provenza: Yeah, but now I'm mad about it.
