White Collar Season 6 Episode 5 Review: Whack-A-Mole

at .  Updated at .

As the penultimate installment of this fun USA Network series, White Collar Season 6 Episode 5 set the stage for a pretty epic finale.

Hands down, my favorite part of the episode was watching Mozzie's crazy algorithm contraption do its work. How cool was that? Even cooler was the fact it acted as an insurance policy for Neal in making this Pink Panther's heist and working to make himself more valuable to the team.

Of course, from the beginning, it was pretty obvious that Neal was already among the most trustworthy, as Woodford seemed pretty receptive to Neal from the beginning. Though I am sure it helped the listening device Woodford found was planted before Neal ever joined the crew. Still, you would like to think Neal comes off naturally as a honorable fellow.

Who clearly wasn't coming off as an honorable fellow, though I don't think this assessment will come as a surprise, was Keller. That man does nothing but leave dead bodies in his wake. He indirectly, but also very directly, dropped both his handler and another member of Woodford's crew. The man didn't even bat an eye. If there's one thing that's very clear about him, it's that he's the exact opposite of Neal. Neal was clearly sick over the thing. That's why I like him so much. He's still a human, with feelings. One wonders where Keller caught such a bad break that he is the way he is.

Here's what I'm still wondering: What was Neal doing with the woman he gave the envelope? We've never seen her before. You'll remember that in White Collar Season 6 Episode 2 Neal hinted he might be out for more than meet's the eye, though I still haven't quite figured out what that thing is just yet. Or, much like Mozzie, where he might fit into the enterprise.

Another thing that surprised me was the speed with which Peter's conflict with Elizabeth climaxed and then cooled. I obviously thought they were going to make a bit of a bigger deal out of the fact Peter missed Elizabeth's sonogram. They don't really seem like the type to drag it out but, if it were me, I might have a few more choice words for my hubby. This is why I idealized the Mr. and Mrs. Suit so much – they don't drag things out!

It may also be that the writers didn't have the time or the episode count to drag it out. What do you think Collars?

Overall, a pretty solid episode. If you haven't done so already, you better watch White Collar online and catch up before next week's series finale!

Are you ready for White Collar to be over yet?
