Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10 Review: The Washington Merry-Go Round

at .

What a spectacular end to a spectacular season!

From start to finish, Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10 kept me on the edge of my seat, much like it has through its entire first season.

The Truth Revealed - Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10

Hynek was like a little kid on Christmas day when he first got to Washington, D.C., even counting down the seconds before the UFOs appeared.

When they didn't show on schedule, the look of disappointment on his face reminded me of how Ralphie looked when he didn't get his rifle on A Christmas Story.

But like Ralphie, Hynek got his gift a few moments later, and it was epic.

It's odd that the UFOs decided to show up in Washington, but they were sending a message.

Whether it's a message of war or peace is something that won't get determined until Project Blue Book Season 2.

Thank the great Alien God in the sky for that because I don't think I could have dealt with not having a second season of this incredible series!

Ulterior Motive - Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10

Quinn finally came around to the idea that aliens exist after he encountered the craft firsthand when he took to the sky to battle them himself.

He had no control over what happened to him and was even willing to put his career on the line when he told the committee the truth of what he saw and experienced.

What a surprise when Hynek dismissed his testimony, but there was a good reason for that.

If Hynek and Quinn would have come across like they believed this wasn't Russian related, not only would they have been off the project, they might have even suffered the same fate as Secretary Fairchild.

Cab Driver: I can't go any faster.
Hynek: Alexander Hamilton says you can.

And we all know who had to be behind his death.

Testifying the Truth - Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10

Harding was too adamant about the aircraft being Russian. He knows the truth of what they are, but he has no intention of sharing it or exposing it with anyone.

He wants war, and these UFOs are giving him the ammunition to make a strike against his sworn enemy.

He needs to keep people in line.

I'm not sure I understand why the Man in the Black Hat wants to keep Hynek at bay now. I get that it's become much too dangerous for him, but does he think Hynek is going to stay away?

And why is he now making Quinn his main contact?

Valentine Has Doubts - Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10

I'm starting to wonder if there is a relationship between the Men in the Black Hats and Susie.

Susie showing up at the bar to flirt with Quinn was a ruse to get closer to him to find out what's happening with Project Blue Book, but the timing was suspicious.

Her primary focus had been the Hyneks, and now the Men in the Black Hats want Hynek to back off, and all of sudden Susie switched her focus.

It's strange which is why I think there's a connection.

Susie is Strange - Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10

It's possible she wasn't a Russian spy at all. After she killed her husband on Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 9, she started to shed everything that had associated her with that life.

She put all the spy equipment in Donna's house and more than likely removed every bug she had put into the Hyneks' house, except she forgot about the phone bug.

Gotta say, professor. You're one tricky son of a bitch.

Mimi isn't stupid. She knows something's not right, but it doesn't seem she's going to make the connection to Susie anytime soon.

What would be great would be if she would start suspecting something when she realizes Susie is making the moves on Quinn because how weird is that?

In the Sky - Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10

I can't remember if Mimi ever knew Susie was pulled in for questioning, but if she did, it would have been something they would have talked about afterward.

At the very least, Mimi would have offered to talk to Quinn in Susie's defense regarding the gun and that never happened.

Mimi's trusting nature is maddening, but if she does figure out something is fishy with her friend, she will have to tread carefully. Susie has no problems taking care of people and getting rid of evidence.

If Mimi gets in her way, Susie will take of Mimi especially now that Mimi has rejected her romantically.

Susie is an odd character, and while I know this is going to sound way out there, but maybe she's an alien in human clothing?!

Facing the Media - Project Blue Book Season 1 Episode 10

It's possible, and it would be an unexpected, holy-sh*t kind of twist, wouldn't it?

I hope Quinn figures her out before he gets too involved with her.

His mind is freeing with what he's experienced so far, but he still needs to stay sharp, pretty girl or not.

This has nothing to do with the Russians. Or America for that matter.

The Man in the Black Hat

Besides, he and Quinn have lots of work to do, and there's no time for romance if he wants to find the truth.

I've said it in previous reviews, but everything about Project Blue Book is top notch from the writing to the acting to the costuming to the cinematography. It is a thinking person's show and one of the best on TV!

I can't wait to see what's in store next for Hynek and Quinn and look forward to following their journey to seek the truth.

Over to you!

What did you think about the finale?

Are the aliens here for truth or war? Will Hynek take the Man in the Black Hat's advice and back off?

What's Susie's game?
