Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 17 revolves around the murder of a guy who defused landmines for a living. The victim, John, stepped on a mine in the woods and was blown up. The detectives have a long list of suspects, as everyone from foreign government officials to people who felt John's company wasn't moving fast enough had a motive.

Jane and Maura's investigation has to wait, however, because Vince realizes they are in a minefield. Bomb Squad comes and rescues almost everyone, but Vince is standing on the edge of a mine. Jane refuses to leave until he is rescued, while Maura gathers materials to help defuse the situation (literally.)

Vince confesses to Jane that he's not dealing well with possibly losing everything just when things are going well. Jane doesn't want to leave when the Bomb Squad leader tells her to, but Vince says he will be fine. She and Maura watch nervously as Vince is rescued. There is an explosion but he is okay.

Frankie, Vince and Jane work as hard as possible to find the bomber. Meanwhile, Kiki has second thoughts about marrying Vince after his near death experience, Angela considers going to Paris with her boyfriend, and Jane loses it more than once while trying to investigate the identity of the person who destroyed her apartment and kidnapped Maura.
