The new villain, Indigo, arrived on Supergirl Season 1 Episode 15 and she brought with her an interesting twist on how Kara wound up on Earth. 

Below, TV Fanatics Jim Garner, Christine Orlando, Kathleen Wiedel, and Stacy Glanzman discuss Indigo's partnership with Non, our first look at the Fortress of Solitude, and alllll that relationship drama.

What are your thoughts on Indigo in general, as well as her teaming up with Non?

Jim: I like the overall character, and Laura Vandervoort playing her was an interesting irony. The only real problem I had was the horrible wig they had on her for the red hair. It will be interesting to see what her an Non do teamed up.

Christine: I liked the twist about how she saved Kara from being stuck forever out in space. I’m guessing that plot point will come back again since Indigo isn’t as gone as the Scooby gang thinks she is.

Kathleen: That was a funky-looking wig, though, wasn't it? I'm glad that Indigo's not a one-and-done villain like pretty much all the others this season – it's nice to have a villain as threatening as she is.

Stacy: I liked her as a character and agree with Christine that it was interesting that she had a part in Kara's arrival on Earth. She seems more ruthless than Astra and less likely to hold Non back, so the two of them together could be really dangerous.

What did you think of the Fortress of Solitude?

Jim: I was really hoping for a little more. That being said, I did like the key that only certain people would be able to lift.

Christine: I’m with Jim. I expected more from having Kara venture there. It seemed like a really quick trip without a whole lot being revealed.

Kathleen: I get that they want to keep Superman separate from Supergirl, but they can go too far in that direction. I wish they'd had more of the Fortress of Solitude instead of there-then-gone, especially given the promotion for it. For what it's worth, it did look good.

Stacy: I liked it, but even with the DEO's resources, it seems like something that could have been helpful sooner.

Are you happy for Winn? Do you want Siobhan to stick around?

Jim: I like her more now that she's come down a peg. I'm happy that Winn has someone mostly interested in him, though threat of death at every turn seems a little harsh :) hehe.

Christine: I’m so happy for Winn. I like he and Kara better as friends. Much like Jim, I enjoyed Siobhan much more in this episode. It’s great to know she has some reasons for her constant snarkiness. I’m looking forward to seeing a relationship develop between her and Winn.

Kathleen: Two things – It's never fun to be the rebound relationship, and I am still suspicious of Siobhan (though she was infinitely more tolerable in this episode). I'm glad that Winn has a not-Kara love interest, but whether Siobhan is the best choice for such a relationship...?

Stacy: Assuming she can be trusted, I am happy for Winn. I definitely liked her more in this episode and considering how often Kara has to run off, it probably doesn't hurt to have a back up assistant.

Will James and Kara admit their feelings to each other by the end of the season?

Jim: We can certainly hope. I know too many times they will drag this out for too many seasons. I also wonder if Lucy will eventually be part of the Scooby gang or if she will leave.

Christine: Oh, I hope so. The last thing I want to watch is months of will they/won’t they. I really like Kara and James, and I can’t wait for them to be honest with themselves and one another.

Kathleen: You said it, Christine. Given that they pretty much established the will they/won't they between Kara and James right away, it would be really, really annoying to go through months (if not years) of them dancing around their feelings. Done right, it can be an entertaining carrot. Unfortunately, all too often it becomes simply frustrating for viewers.

Stacy: I hope so too. I don't want to see this get dragged out. I'd much rather see drama/conflict around them trying to make a human/alien relationship work than watch months of will they/won't they drama.

Were you surprised by the way Alex and Hank's secret was resolved?

Jim: Nope, I called it when it first happened, that Alex would tell her fairly quickly as the guilt was eating her up. I'm glad Kara hugged her and I'm hopeful that they will be ok, though I suspect this is going to just drive a deeper wedge between Kara and the DEO.

Christine: More relieved than surprised. Alex couldn’t live with lying to her sister. I’m surprised she lasted as long as she did. The scene with Kara hugging her sister and putting her hand out to Hank almost had me in tears.

Kathleen: I was a little bit surprised myself. That said, I'm glad they didn't drag it out and milk the DRAMA (!) as much as they could have. Whether the apparent reconciliation holds true remains to be seen, however.

Stacy: I wasn't surprised either, but I am glad Alex came clean and Kara didn't find out some other way. I really didn't like the way Kara was treating Hank and it was nice to see her reach out for him.

Did you have a favorite quote or scene?

Jim: I liked Kara chasing the missile and creating her own hand holds as she climbed it. It's those subtle bits that make a show like this work.

Christine: I loved James telling Kara that she flies faster but makes sharp turns. I thought that was a great combination of sweet and funny.

Kathleen: Kara remarking that she could throw Siobhan into space, right after Siobhan called her "Tweedledum." Zing!

Stacy: I loved Alex's tearful and heartfelt confession. Chyler Leigh has really been fantastic this season.
